Maybe you saved your segment as “Save for myself”? If that's the case, your teammate won't see it. You will need to edit your segment and make it “For teams”.

No big deal. Just go back, find the right moment, tick the “Start at” box again, and copy the updated link. You can always resend it - it’s just a URL.

Does sharing a session mean it’s public?

How to Collaborate Across Teams Using Zipy

Overview

Debugging isn’t really a solo mission - engineers, QA folks, and PMs all need to stay in the loop. Zipy makes that way easier. Step-by-step Instructions

Step 1 - Pick a session that looks weird (or maybe interesting)

Head over to the session replay section in Zipy.
Scroll through or search until you find the session that’s acting weird (or interesting). That’s your starting point.

Step 2 - Share it like a pro

See that Share URL button in the top right? Click it.
If you want to point someone to a specific moment in the replay (like when the bug actually happens), tick the “Start at” box - super handy.
Then hit Copy, and boom - you’ve got a link ready to drop in Slack, email, wherever.
Anyone on your Zipy project can click that link and jump right in. Now you’re all literally on the same page.

Step 3 - Save Segments for team

In the session replay dashboard, click on 'Save Segment'.
Choose whether to 'Save for myself' for private review or 'Save for teams' to support collaborative analysis.
Sharing segments with your team enhances deep dives into particular aspects of session data and keeps everyone informed.
Once you save a segment for teams, everyone who has access to your Zipy project can view the saved segment. Read this blog to know more about segments in Zipy.

Step 4 - Invite team members to collaborate

Zipy gives you the option to invite team members to your Zipy project.
You need to navigate to the “Invite team” section in Settings.
Click on the “Invite Users” button
Enter the work email address of the team member you want to invite and select if you want them to be an admin or member.
Click “Invite users to project”. The invited member will receive an invitation via email.

Best Practices

Name the segment properly so that your team members can easily know the intent behind a segment.
Tick on the “Start at” checkbox in session replay before sharing the session URL so that the receiver lands on the exact part of session replay that you want to share without needing to watch the whole session from beginning to end.
Always invite users in bulk. If you want to invite many users at once, it saves your time.
